Article 11th The quantity of opium to be prepared and boiled by the Seven shops shall be according to demands of the Golden Ports (Australia and California) as advised by the Hop Li and Hop Fuk Companies. When orders for prepared opium of such a chop be required by the Sun I' Company, opium should at once be boiled and sent on as per her order, but if the Managing Heads in the Golden Countries should differ in opinions (as to the quantity of each chop to be sent) and each of them would adhere to his own opinion (for which of course nothing could be done), then the question as to the quantity of prepared opium of such and such a chop shall be publicly decided by the Managing Heads at a meeting held at Hong Kong for the purpose.
Article 12th It is agreed that all prepared Opium remaining unsold in the Golden Countries (Australia and California) previous to amalgamation (of the two Companies, Chap Shing and Yan Wo) shall be taken over by the Hop Fuk and Hop Li Companies at the price...
